Gordon Korman fans won’t be disappointed by this fast and funny middle school story; Roddy’s old English interpretation of the 21st century is laugh-out-loud funny. The family's most recent move brought him to Stratton, named after Shakespeare's home town and basically owned by a billionaire who's obsessed with the Bard, living in a 16th-century style mansion and having a Shakespeare museum.

However, his fancy phone--a consolation prize for moving--is acting up, and somehow, it channels the spirit of Roderick Northrup who claims to have written Romeo & Juliet under a different title.

Welcome back. When 12-year-old Cooper Vega moves for the third time in five years, he receives a state-of-the-art smartphone to help him stay in touch with old friends. I liked this book because it was a very original storyline.

In Whatshisface, he deals with the issue of being someone no one really notices or when they do, it is because they need a target for teasing and bullying. Unable to add item to List. An excellent plot, rich characters, funny, and a quick read. For Cooper, an awkward teenager who excels in neither sports nor acting, the transition to Stratton is rough. Cons:  The first few chapters were kind of flat. The ending is very surprising, and the bond of a kid and his phone is almost like a great metaphor of millennials these days!

To see what your friends thought of this book, Whatshisface is not a realistic fiction novel with a life lesson like Restart, not a kid detective book like Korman’s Swindle series nor is it the action adventure of of The Island or On the Run. I liked this book because it was a very original storyline. Cooper Vega, the new guy in seventh grade and a military kid, has just moved for the third time in five years.
