I was also considering Lightning infusion, but I already have the Lightning Blade spell, so... Usually the "physical" infusions are way better since you keep the option to apply other buffs to your liking. Attack power

I ended up going for a sharp infusion and I'm happy with it :D. I'd honestly suggest you avoid using the astora greatsword in general.

Like it was in the first game, it's a crutch until mid game, then it become pretty worthless.

It's rather a quality build. (barbed sword deals more damage with bleed, but has less range, more stamina consumption and 20 less AR). You only get about 1-2 extra swings than the longsword, but with less stamina consumption, that little bit of stamina can save your life, I really wish fromsoft had finally made a half decent astora straight sword, but no, i cant have my astora knight cosplay because miyazaki decided "lets just make this weapon objectively***** in every game".

The Astora Greatsword is an ultra greatsword in Dark Souls III. Forgot I increased my str.

Great with raw infusion and using the herald or the cleric!

Outside of that not much to be done. One-handed thrust, followed by overhead smash.

That stays true for the life of this sword.

ಠ_ಠ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, this thing is a straight sword that can be infused and buffed and deal more base damage than the wolf knight greatsword and the stormruler which are greatswords, and yet people underrate it so much, i wish i would see more people using this... damn, can anyone explain why i dont see anyone use this even though it has this massive damage and yet still can be buffed and infused???
